Diamond Earring Certificates

We sell two classes of diamond; EGL-USA laboratory certified diamonds and our "Best Value" diamonds. If you only want to purchase diamonds that have been individually lab graded, then look at the areas of our website that sell "Certified Diamonds". Our Best Value Diamonds are not individually certified by a third party laboratory. We do provide our grading certificate with each diamond purchased. One of the Great Myths that the public holds about the jewelry industry is that all diamonds are handled, certified and sold on a one-by-one basis. The truth is that, at the highest levels of the industry, diamonds are sold and traded in parcels, often 1,000 or more diamonds in a parcel, roughly sorted by minimum Color and Clarity.
The most important feature of a diamond is the Diamond Cut and this is determined by the standards of a handful of prime source sightholders that obtain the rough, cut the finished goods and take their parcels to market. We represent one of the few sightholders that cuts exclusively to Ideal or Excellent standards.
Are our Best Value non certified diamonds as good as our EGL-USA Certified diamonds?
In a word, yes. Our Best Value diamonds are pulled from the same inventory as our EGL Certified goods. Our in-house gemologists perform a quality control check on about 15% of all the diamonds in any given parcel. The simple truth is that we guarantee the uncertified diamonds are identical to, and pulled from the same parcels as our EGL Certified diamonds, but they cost about 30% less. Certified inventory sits on the shelf until it is sold, but parcel diamonds can be easily traded among dealers in the market.
Is it safe to buy a diamond without a third party appraisal or certificate?

In many cases, we would say, no. However, all of our single diamonds and studs come from the same source, and they are consistently cut to Excellent or Ideal proportions.
The certificate of appraisal at right is for a diamond that came from the same parcel as described on the Evaluation form above.
Note that the crucial measurements for Depth, Table, Crown and Pavilion on the certified diamond fall within the tolerances stated on our Diamond Parcel Evaluation. Both diamonds will exhibit exceptional Brilliance, Fire and Scintillation.
Ultimately the choice is yours and, regardless of what the numbers say. The true test is to compare two diamonds side by side and decide for yourself which diamond appears more beautiful to your eye.
If you are in doubt, order two diamonds from us: one EGL-USA certified, and the other from our non-certified Value Collection. Compare them side by side (this is best done in sunlight), and if the less expensive diamond appears as brilliant and fiery as the more expensive certified diamond, return the second diamond to us within 30 days, and we guarantee a prompt, full refund.
Finally, even on a certified diamond, it is a good idea to have it appraised again from an independent third party.

1 Carat Diamond Stud Earrings in 14K Gold Excellent Cut, H Color I2 Clarity
Offered at: $819.00 (click here to order) **
Stylish and elegant, our 1/2 carat diamond studs earrings feature 2 round brilliant cut diamonds set in a stylish four prong gallery of precious 14K White Gold.
If you want the largest diamond for the lowest cost, our I2 Clarity, H-J Color is the grade to buy. On close inspection, you will see visible flaws in an I2 diamond. However, we cherry pick our I2 diamonds from large parcels, and choose diamonds that have small feathers or other white flaws farthest away from the center and close to the girdle, or outer edge. Often these markings can be covered by a setting prong, rendering them invisible after the diamond is set.
These special diamonds have extraordinary brilliance and fire due to their Excellent Cut and Near Colorless grade, they are simply superior to most diamonds sold at retail stores. But rest assured, if you are uncertain about buying this quality, remember you can always return it for a prompt refund or upgrade to an I1 or better diamond after inspecting it.
